Hydrocyclones and sand separators
Hydrocyclone filters, also known as hydrocyclone separators, are devices used to separate solid particles from fluids such as water or oil. They work by utilizing the centrifugal force generated by the rotation of the fluid inside the device.
The centrifugal effect pushes the solid particles towards the filter wall, where they are collected and removed from the outgoing fluid.
Hydrocyclone filters are often used in industrial applications to remove sand, clay, debris, and other solid particles from process water, cooling fluids, cutting fluids, and other liquids used in industry.
Furthermore, hydrocyclone filters can also be used in domestic applications, such as removing sand and other particles from well water or river water or lakes
The particles can reduce the efficiency of your irrigation system by plugging and clogging sprinklers, drip emitters, valves, and spray nozzles.
